Prasat Preah Vihear Temple
I had to take a private taxi to get to this particular temple,
it is located on the north border to thailand and a long ride away from siem reap.
But i was lucky and i could share the costs with other people wo had the same desire to see Preah Vihear.
There is a long history of fighting between the thai and cambodian people about the temple.
Thailand always tried to claim this land for their country, not to long ago there even was an exchange of fire.
When i arrived the military troops of cambodia just came back from a discussion with the thais.
A General told me about the latest agreements and he even invited me to his home to tell me more about the whole story, too bad that i already had booked my night bus to Phnom Penh and therefore no time to accept his invitation.
It was just a few days after i went to the temple and I could really see how relievedthe people in siem reap where when we saw the decisoin live on TV. I am really glad that the cambodian people finally got what they had to defend for such a long time. Especially now that i know how much their neighbouring countrys already have taken from them..
..to the next temple, since they were kinda on our way back
